Prophet 21 questions
Is Simetta made by Epicor?
No. Simetta is an independent training product from Uptimize Solutions. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Epicor. Its screens are a training simulation styled after Prophet 21.
Does Simetta connect to our P21 system?
No. Trainees practice in Simetta’s own sandbox, which has its own business-rules engine. They don’t sign in to P21 to train, and nothing they do is written to your P21 database.
Which Prophet 21 windows does Simetta cover?
52 P21-style windows today, including Order Entry, Purchase Order Entry, PO Receipts, Shipping, Cash Receipts, Customer Credit Status Update, Voucher Entry, Bin Transfer, Cycle Count, RMA Entry, Contract Maintenance and Journal Entry.
Can training use our own customers and items from P21?
Yes. You can import customers, ship-tos, items, vendors and stock from spreadsheet exports, so trainees practice on the names they will see in your P21. A demo distributor is included for trying it first.
Does it cover P21 replenishment, like Min/Max, OP/OQ and EOQ?
Yes. The Purchasing track covers PO Requirements/Generation by Min/Max, switching an item to order point and order quantity, and reordering by economic order quantity.
Is it only for new hires?
No. Existing staff use it to cross-train, for example customer service learning front-counter receiving, and every passed skill comes back for review after 1, 3, 7 and 21 days.
